Wagering Requirements Example: 20x, 30x and 40x Explained in Ringgit

22 June 2026

A wagering multiplier on its own — “30x,” “40x” — doesn’t mean much until it’s attached to an actual ringgit amount. Here are three worked examples at different multipliers so the numbers stop being abstract.

Example 1: RM50 bonus at 20x (bonus only)

You deposit and receive a RM50 bonus with a 20x wagering requirement applied to the bonus amount only. Turnover required = RM50 × 20 = RM1,000 in total stakes before you can withdraw. If you’re playing slots that contribute 100% of each bet, you need to place RM1,000 worth of spins in total — not lose RM1,000, just wager it, win or lose along the way.

Example 2: RM100 deposit + RM100 bonus at 30x (deposit + bonus)

Here the multiplier applies to deposit and bonus combined: (RM100 + RM100) × 30 = RM6,000 in turnover. This is why the wagering basis matters more than the multiplier itself — a 30x on deposit + bonus can demand six times more turnover than a 30x on bonus only, for what looks like an identical headline number.

Example 3: RM200 bonus at 40x (bonus only) with table games mixed in

RM200 × 40 = RM8,000 turnover target on bonus only. But say half your play is on blackjack at a 20% contribution rate. RM4,000 wagered on blackjack only counts as RM4,000 × 0.20 = RM800 toward the target — meaning you’d actually need to stake far more in blackjack than the headline number suggests to hit the same RM8,000 in weighted turnover. Slots at 100% contribution clear the same target much faster.

These three examples cover the variables that actually decide how hard a bonus is to clear: the multiplier, the wagering basis, and game contribution weighting. Rather than doing this arithmetic by hand for every offer, plug your own numbers into the Wagering Calculator — it handles all three variables live and shows the exact RM turnover you’re on the hook for.
