Wagering, rollover, playthrough — one formula, three names
Casino bonus terms in Malaysia aren't standardised, and neither is the vocabulary. Some operators write "wagering requirement," others "rollover," and a growing number — especially slot-focused platforms — write "playthrough." All three describe the same rule: playthrough amount = (basis × multiplier) ÷ (contribution% ÷ 100).
In practice, "playthrough" tends to show up most on slot-heavy operators and app-based casinos, often phrased as "30x playthrough on bonus funds" or similar. The mechanics don't change just because the word does: you still need to know whether the multiplier applies to the bonus alone or to your deposit and bonus combined, and you still need the per-game contribution rate, since slots typically count in full while table and live games are weighted down — sometimes to as little as 5%.
A worked example
Suppose an operator credits a RM80 deposit with a RM80 bonus and states "20x playthrough, bonus only." At 100% slot contribution: RM80 × 20 = RM1,600 in total stakes to clear the bonus. If that same player instead grinds it out on roulette at 15% contribution, the effective playthrough jumps to RM1,600 ÷ 0.15 ≈ RM10,667 — nearly seven times higher for identical bonus terms, purely because of the game chosen. This is exactly why the calculator above asks for game contribution as a required input rather than an afterthought.
Whichever term appears in your bonus terms and conditions, treat it identically: plug the multiplier, the basis, and the contribution rate into the tool above and read off the real number before you deposit. If your terms use "wagering requirement" or "rollover" specifically, the Wagering Calculator and Rollover Calculator pages carry the same tool with terminology matched to those phrasings, plus their own worked examples. Holding free spins instead of a cash bonus? Use the Free Spins Value Calculator first to convert spins into an expected return, then apply playthrough on top of that figure. And once you've got the real number, weigh it against live operator terms on the Bonus Review page.
