Cashback Calculator

Cashback sounds like a straightforward refund on losses — until the cap kicks in. This tool works out your real payout for the cycle, capped or not.

Weekly or monthly cashback usually has a cap. Work out your real payout before it hits the ceiling.

Cashback is a rate, not a refund

The formula is short: cashback = min(net losses × rate%, cap). The part players routinely miss is the "min" — a hard ceiling that quietly reduces your effective rate the more you lose.

Malaysian casino cashback programmes are usually structured on a weekly or monthly cycle, applied to your net losses (total losses minus total wins) over that period, at a stated rate typically between 5% and 20%. That rate is only the full story below the cap. Once your calculated cashback would exceed the cap, the operator simply pays the cap — meaning your effective recovery rate on total losses keeps shrinking the further past the cap you go.

A worked example

Say you net RM500 in losses this cycle, with a stated 10% cashback rate and a RM100 cap. The uncapped formula gives RM500 × 10% = RM50 — under the cap, so you receive the full RM50, a genuine 10% recovery. Now say a rough week leaves you with RM1,500 in net losses under the same 10% rate and RM100 cap: the raw formula amount is RM150, but the cap limits your payout to RM100 — an effective recovery of just RM100 ÷ RM1,500 ≈ 6.7% of your actual losses, well below the advertised 10%. The calculator above surfaces this gap directly, showing both the uncapped formula amount and the real percentage of losses you're recovering once the cap applies.

When comparing cashback programmes, the cap-to-typical-losses ratio matters more than the headline percentage — a lower rate with a generous cap can outperform a higher rate capped tightly, depending on your usual stakes. Cashback is often paid as bonus funds rather than cash, in which case it may carry its own wagering requirement — check that separately with the Wagering Calculator or Rollover Calculator.
